 portunity to meet colleagues from other universities and think about an ess
 ential step in your career: tying your individual research interests and fi
 ndings to theories on a higher level of abstraction, opening up doors to ne
 w projects and international cooperation beyond your specific topic. Specif
 ically, we have invited Ivan Strenski to discuss with us questions regardin
 g the disciplinary nature of the study of religion: What keeps us together?
  Do we have a research program, sharing general research questions? Please 
 note that there are two recommended readings for the presentation.\n\nApart
  from this lecture and a plenary discussion, we will have ample time for mo
 re informal conversation and exchange about the PhD/Postdoc life during a p
