In absence of “in-person” academic meetings, we invite all early career scholars in the study of religion in Switzerland for a series of online meetups. We believe that it is important to stay in touch and even expand our network during this strange period. How can we collaborate beyond the boundaries of our institutions? What is the impact of online meetings and conferences on your international network?

The aim of this first 2021 Mittelbau meetup is to broaden our scope beyond the particularities of our own research, by meeting colleagues from other universities and thinking about the role of comparison in the study of religion. We will start with an introduction into the topic by prof. Oliver Freiberger, followed by a plenary discussion in which we aim to translate his insights into our own work (as well as in our vision for the discipline as such).
